2025 - 2026 School Year Bridgeport Public Schools Human Resources Department 45 Lyon Terrace, Room 324 Bridgeport, CT 06604 JOB OPENING WAREHOUSE ASSISTANT (PART-TIME) BOE NUTRITION CENTER SALARY: $17.50 PER HOUR/18.75 HRS A WK/42 WEEKS Position Summary: The Warehouse Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of the warehouse by picking food and supply orders, assisting in the maintenance and organization of stock, and helping ensure deliveries are properly labeled and prepared for transport. This part-time role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and efficient workspace.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities:
- Read requisitions and accurately pick food and supply orders.
- Assist warehousemen and truck drivers in picking and preparing requisitions for delivery.
- Lift and move boxes, milk crates.
- Spot sweep and mop warehouse floors and walk-in coolers/freezers after use.
- Rotate inventory stock to ensure proper use by date and minimize waste.
- Tag and label boxes and supplies accurately for delivery.
