This exciting ownership positions us for continued impacts and growth in the future.Material Handler As a Material Handler you will be responsible for loading, unloading, processing and storing hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials at a permitted waste treatment facility with supervision.Essential Functions & Requirements: Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all timesLoads, unloads and processes solid and liquid waste safely in accordance with Company, federal, state and local regulations/rulesOperates a fork truck and Bob Cat with attachments as well as brooms, shovels, production machines, palletizers, tractor, ladders and stairsAttaches appropriate labels and tags to products and packagesPacks finished goods into correct packages, pails and lace finished goods on designated palletsDirects liquid waste through a system of pumps to tanks for storagePerforms basic spill cleanup and housekeeping duties as directedPerforms chemical compatibility checks to prevent reactions and other issuesUtilizes barcode system equipment to document certain inventory activitiesReviews laboratory data to determine proper handling and disposal of materialsUtilizes Department of Transportation (DOT) knowledge to match and label inbound materials and for storage and shipping of containers to other sitesUses proper equipment to remove samples of materials for analysis and compatibility checksOperates a hydraulic bailer for cardboard and other materialsKeeps operating areas, walls, pipes and floor in a clean and safe conditionUtilizes knowledge of applicable EPA, DOT, OSHA and permit regulationsMaintains an understanding of Heritage Coding and labeling systems to handle and manage containersSafely and appropriately utilizes personal protection equipment (PPE), such as Boots, Gloves, Suits, Eye/Ear Protection and RespiratorTakes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organizationEducation:High-school diploma or equivalent (required) 24/40 hour HAZWOPER Certification (preferred)Experience: 1+ years of related experience (required) Competencies: Ability to develop a working knowledge of EPA, DOT and OSHA regulations, along with general industry practicesAbility to work cohesively as part of a team Ability to lift up to 75lbs in an outdoor environment during a 12-hour shiftAbility to wear full personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role Benefits, Compensation, & Workforce Diversity: Arcwood offers competitive pay and bonus incentives.
