About the Role:
We're looking for a reliable, experienced Warehouse Manager / Logistics Lead to take ownership of day-to-day warehouse operations and logistics for our growing company. This role is key to ensuring all orders are shipped accurately, on time, and at the most cost-effective rates — while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse that operates according to company SOPs.
You'll lead a team of warehouse associates, spend 75% of your day on the warehouse floor actively managing staff, ensuring standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed, and promoting a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork. The remaining 25% in the office handling logistics, shipment planning, vendor coordination, and administrative tasks. This position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & SOP Compliance
- Lead by example — work alongside the team to set the tone for productivity, quality, and accountability
- Conduct daily meetings to communicate priorities, assign tasks, and ensure alignment on goals
- Train, coach, and monitor staff to ensure strict adherence to warehouse SOPs, safety procedures, and customer service standards
- Implement and maintain training programs to improve team performance and consistency
- Monitor labor compliance, ensuring employees take breaks and lunches per legal and company requirements
Warehouse Operations
- Oversee all warehouse functions: receiving, put-away, inventory management, picking, packing, and shipping
- Ensure orders are picked and shipped accurately and on time
- Perform weekly cycle counts for key SKUs and maintain inventory accuracy in WMS
- Conduct random quality control checks on inbound and outbound orders
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
Logistics & Cost Management
- Manage and schedule inbound and outbound shipments
- Bid out freight, assign carriers, and select the most cost-effective and reliable shipping options
- Send ASN's, create loads, upload signed BOLs, and coordinate with customer requirements
- Audit shipping invoices for accuracy and identify areas for cost savings
- Work closely with the purchasing and sales teams to coordinate priorities and meet delivery expectations
Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate warehouse and logistics processes regularly and recommend improvements
- Implement best practices to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and lower operating costs
- Review carrier performance to ensure optimal service and pricing
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and team management skills; ability to motivate and guide staff
- Deep understanding of warehouse procedures, inventory control, and shipping logistics
- Forklift and Reach Truck Certified
- Proficient in WMS systems (Extensiv preferred), Microsoft Office, and logistics platforms such as Bill.com
- Experience managing freight costs, carrier selection, and invoice auditing
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Minimum Required Education and Work Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse or logistics management
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
