Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing therapeutic diets for patients.
- Prepare and serve meals for staff, visitors, and special functions.
- Maintain inventory and ensure cleanliness and organization within the department.
- Adhere to food safety guidelines and maintain sanitary conditions.
Qualifications:
- Food handlers permit (if required by state or county regulations).
- Training in food preparation for therapeutic diets is desirable.
- Recent experience in institutional cooking and special function cooking is a plus.
- Knowledge of food safety guidelines preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and retrieve objects regularly.
- Safely lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to push/pull objects weighing up to 150 pounds with assistance.
- Prolonged standing and walking are required.
- Capable of reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
Work Environment:
- Indoor, temperature-controlled, smoke-free environment.
- Occasional outdoor exposure and noteworth of wet surfaces and sharp objects.
- High noise levels may be present and hot/cold temperature extremes may occur.
