McKenzie Electric Cooperative (MEC) is currently seeking qualified candidates for Manager of Distribution Engineering. The selected candidate for this full-time, benefited position is responsible for overseeing and directing staff on member requests for new, upgraded, or relocated electric services, ensuring compliance with standards and maintaining equipment within McKenzie Electric Cooperative (MEC) guidelines. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the role involves supervising staff and contractors, managing system design, coordinating fieldwork, and ensuring quality service delivery. The job includes administrative duties such as invoicing, material procurement, and reporting, while ensuring all work aligns with MEC, Rural Utilities Service (RUS), and National Electric Safety Code (NESC) standards.
Key responsibilities:
Manage and oversee Staking Technicians and contractors.
Coordinate system designs, work orders, and project estimates.
Ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with MEC and RUS standards.
Supervise staff, monitor job performance, and provide leadership.
Coordinate with internal and external teams to meet project goals.
Maintain accurate records and ensure proper handling of member requests and complaints.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's or Associate's degree (or equivalent experience), knowledge of relevant codes and regulations, strong communication and decision-making skills, and the ability to manage both technical and interpersonal aspects of the role. The position requires fieldwork in various environmental conditions and the ability to perform physical tasks.
