This role requires precision, technological proficiency, and the ability to work with sensitive information in a secure environment. Successful candidates will support a government contract performing scanning, OCR, translation, and quality control/editing. Clearance: Secret (minimum)Language: English and Chinese (Fluent speaking, reading, writing, translation skills, editing skills)Work Location: Falls Church, VA Contract Duration: One yearEquipment: All work must be performed on Manpower computers and equipmentHours: 40 hours/week (during normal business hours EST)Position Overview & ResponsibilitiesAs a Chinese Linguist, you will be responsible for a range of linguistic and administrative tasks, including:• Data Collection & Processingo Scanning hardcopy documents using classified scanners (onsite only).o Applying Optical Character Recognition (OCR) tools (e.g., ABBYY, Adobe) for digitization.o Conducting text clean-up and refinement to ensure accuracy and readability. • Linguistic & Analytical Taskso Performing data entry and document formatting per client specifications.o Aligning translations to maintain consistency across multilingual documents.o Formatting and structuring documents for optimal usability and accessibility.o Utilizing advanced language software and forensic processing tools. • Additional Responsibilitieso Collaborating with team members to complete linguistic assignments efficiently.o Maintaining strict confidentiality and data protection protocols.o Performing other administrative or linguistic tasks as assigned.
