Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist – Pediatrics
Location: Peoria, IL
Shift: 8-Hour Days (Full-Time)
Contract Duration: 13 or 20 Weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Ultrasound Technologist with pediatric experience and PEDS certification to join a reputable healthcare team. This role involves the use of non-ionizing, high-frequency ultrasonic waves for diagnostic purposes. The technologist will work independently and collaboratively in a high-volume environment and is expected to provide patient-centered care while delivering high-quality imaging studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures (abdominal, pelvic, vascular, etc.) following department protocols.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound and related equipment.
- Interface with various hospital computer systems including EMR and PACS.
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure cleanliness and readiness of equipment and supplies.
- Identify anatomical abnormalities and notify appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate with radiologists and medical staff to ensure accurate diagnosis.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital and regulatory standards.
- Provide compassionate patient care, especially in pediatric settings.
- Participate in call rotation as required.
Required Qualifications:
- ARDMS Certification (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer).
- RVT Certification (Registered Vascular Technologist).
- BLS – American Heart Association.
- Completion of a CHEA or USDOE-accredited Ultrasound Program.
- Associate's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of ultrasound experience, including pediatric imaging.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Must pass a comprehensive drug screen in accordance with OSF's drug-free campus policy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Dual registration in ARDMS (AB, OB/GYN, Breast) or ARRT (VS, BS).
- Previous experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
- Prior exposure to high-acuity and high-volume settings.
- Candidates should be comfortable handling 8–11 exams per 8-hour shift.
- PS (Pediatric Sonography) certification (Preferred)
