About the role The Test Lab Technician position is responsible for providing support for product development under Engineering management's general supervision. Responsibilities
- Perform environmental tests on electronic and electromechanical devices in accordance with UL, CSA, IEC and governmental standards Interpret test results, perform data analysis and create written reports
- Assist in the selection and procurement of supplies
- Assist in the construction of specialized test fixtures and equipment
- Provide interpretation of standards
- Test, maintain and evaluate equipment performance
- Local Essential Function (Intense Lighting, Anaheim CA): Assemble product samples for testing and evaluation as well as a modest amount of fabrication and or surface finishing as required for any components needed to build the product samples
Qualifications
- Familiarity and use of test equipment
- Working knowledge of instrumentation and wiring systems
- Familiarity with UL, CSA, IEC and government standards and test procedures
- Knowledge of general machine shop work
- General knowledge of household and industrial electrical devices and wiring in accordance with the National Electric Code
Education & Experience
- Associate's degree in a technical field or engineering (electrical or mechanical)
- Hands-on experience in a lab environment is required
- Experience with some of the following tests and equipment: Digital Multi Meter, Volt, Amp, Watt Meters, Oscilloscope, Temperature/Humidity Cabinet, and Thermocouples and temperature testing
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience in an engineering product development environment is a plus
