Associate Attorney – Workers' Compensation

Position Overview:We are seeking motivated and experienced Associate Attorneys to join our client's Workers' Compensation practice. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in workers' compensation law, excellent advocacy skills, and a passion for representing injured workers or employers in all aspects of claims and litigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in workers' compensation hearings, trials, mediations, and appeals before administrative agencies and courts.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Advise clients on case status, legal rights, and obligations.
  • Manage a caseload from inception through resolution, ensuring timely and effective case progression.
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in pre-trial conferences.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, medical professionals, and opposing counsel.
  • Maintain accurate case files and documentation in compliance with firm policies.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in New York State (required).
  • 1-5+ years of experience in workers' compensation law preferred; open to candidates with related litigation experience.
  • Strong knowledge of New York workers' compensation statutes, regulations, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to client service and professional ethics.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range: $80,000 – $200,000 (commensurate with experience).
