Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking an experienced Area Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of affordable, market-rate, and commercial properties in the Midwest Region (Illinois/Wisconsin)Position Summary:Reporting to the General Manager, the Area Manager is responsible for executing strategic operations across their assigned portfolio. This leadership role supervises site-level staff, coordinates with internal departments (construction, accounting, HR), and manages relationships with vendors, government agencies, and residents.Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee property operations including budgeting, financial reporting, capital planning, and compliance
• Supervise and train on-site staff, including hiring, onboarding, and performance management
• Coordinate maintenance, unit turnovers, and capital improvements
• Ensure compliance with HUD and affordable housing regulations
• Lead resident relations, marketing strategies, and lease compliance
• Conduct regular property inspections and risk management practices
• Partner with the construction team and senior leadership on operational initiatives

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, real estate, or related field
• 5–7 years of property management experience
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Yardi preferred
• Must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and professional integrity
• Willingness to travel within Illinois and Wisconsin
