CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) Consultant

Tenacious Solutions, LLC is seeking a CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) Consultant with an active secret clearance to guide and support our team in achieving compliance with the latest CMMC 2.0 requirements. This is a part-time, flexible position ideal for a subject matter expert with CMMC implementation experience. The role is mainly remote, with occasional on-site requirements in Arlington, VA.

Primary duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assess Organizational Readiness: Evaluate cybersecurity practices and gaps against CMMC 2.0 levels (Foundational, Advanced, Expert).
  • Provide guidance on achieving and maintaining certifications for Levels 1-4, including self-assessments, third-party certifications, and government assessments.
  • Develop a roadmap for CMMC compliance, including controls, policies, and addressing FCI and CUI security.
  • Establish continuous monitoring and compliance processes, including incident reporting and annual affirmations.
  • Lead technical implementation of security strategies.
  • Conduct training sessions on CMMC requirements and controls.
  • Engage with clients to assess and address CMMC needs and support implementations.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Active Secret Clearance or higher
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field
  • 5+ years in IT Security/Cybersecurity
  • Over 5 years of cybersecurity consulting, especially in DoD contracts, compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST SP 800-171), and CMMC
  • Certification as a CMMC Registered Practitioner (RP), CMMC Assessor (CCA), or Certified CMMC Professional (CCP)
  • Deep knowledge of CMMC, NIST 800-171, ISO 27001
  • Understanding of federal cybersecurity regulations like DFARS and FISMA
  • Proficiency in tools like eMASS and ACAS, knowledge of NIST standards
  • Experience with CMMC RPO or C3PAO roles is highly desired
  • Experience with CMMC 2.0 requirements and DoD regulations
  • Experience working with DIB and handling CUI
  • Experience developing POA&Ms for cybersecurity compliance
  • Familiarity with DFARS Clause 252.###-#### and CMMC 2.0 updates
  • Ability to conduct gap analyses and remediation planning
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
