General Responsibilities:
- Building relationships and growing business in the transportation sector.
- Developing business through marketing to existing clients and identifying new clients.
- Meeting with cities, counties, and local agencies for business development.
- Design calculations, plan preparation, and schematic design direction for TDOT and local government projects.
- Managing project schedules and financial requirements.
- Applying advanced techniques, theories, and practices in a specialized engineering field.
- Interacting with clients and consultants, requiring good communication skills.
- Evaluating and adapting standard techniques, procedures, and criteria independently.
Required Education/Licenses:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer (TN preferred).
Required Experience:
- 20+ years of experience with MicroStation, Geopak (or Open Roads), and TDOT procedures.
- Flexibility to adapt to short-notice work changes.
- Experience in project management with multiple deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for client and team interaction.
- Ability to build strong relationships.
- Leadership and mentorship skills for managing a team of design professionals.
