Description

The YMCA of South Florida is now hiring a Success Coach for our Youth Development Team in Broward County. Under the direction of the Director/Lead Success Coach, the Success Coach is primarily responsible for the engagement, assessment, goal development, and creation of extended learning plans for the youth participating in the YOUTH FORCE Program.

As a Drug-Free Workplace, all new hires must successfully complete a drug test within 72 hours of notice. Essential Functions:

  • Conducts a complete intake and registration of students.
  • Works with agencies and service providers to facilitate case coordination and information sharing.
  • Refers youth and their families to appropriate community agencies or counseling agencies for social and educational needs.
  • Maintains case records and provides assistance with appropriate documentation.
  • Assists with prevention/education curriculum development and presentations.
  • Assists with onsite operations as directed
  • Coordinate, prepare, and maintain required charting and documentation in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Adhere to all confidentiality requirements and standards.
  • Plan, initiate and monitor innovative programs for youth and their families.
  • Work with culturally diverse students, families, and staff.
  • May provide some direct supervision to interns and volunteers.
  • Adhere to the Child Abuse & Neglect Reporting requirements that mandate by law all childcare personnel to report suspicions of child abuse, neglect, or abandonment. The YMCA requires employees to follow the internal reporting procedures with the assistance of the Program Managers.
  • Ensure that the proper staffs to child ratios are maintained at all times and reports discrepancies to the Site Supervisor or Program Manager as needed.
  • Assist the Site Supervisor in any other appropriate ways as directed.

Position Profile:

  • Outgoing personality enjoys speaking to people.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and a major in social work or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience in working with adolescents in an educational criminal justice, or human services setting required.
  • Professional training in child abuse is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before individuals, public groups, and employees of the organization.
  • Experience coordinating youth development and youth enrichment programs.
  • Effective organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to develop and maintain open channels of communication between home and school.
  • Knowledge of school/community relationships and community problems, interests, and concerns.
  • Strong organizational and leadership ability.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of community groups, organizations, district staff, consultants, students, and parents.

As a condition of employment, you will be required to submit to and satisfactorily clear a thorough Level II fingerprinting background screening and drug test.
