Position DescriptionThe University of California, Irvine seeks an assistant director to support the management and operations of the Center for Complex and Active Materials (CCAM), funded by NSF. The center focuses on creating advanced materials for defense, healthcare, and societal challenges, fostering research, industry partnerships, and workforce development. Responsibilities include supporting daily operations, planning research and outreach activities, tracking progress, communicating research highlights, managing budgets, and overseeing personnel matters. Candidates should hold a PhD in materials science, physics, or chemistry, with research experience in synthesis, characterization, or modeling of complex materials. Excellent communication skills are required.
