About The Role

Are you passionate about advancing pharmaceutical research and ensuring drug safety? The Preclinical Safety (PCS) department at Novartis Biomedical Research is seeking an experienced Genetic Toxicologist to join our team. You will support non-clinical safety assessment throughout drug discovery, development, and for established medicines, ensuring regulatory compliance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and monitor genetic toxicology studies; interpret data to support drug programs.
  • Provide expert opinions on genetic toxicity assessments for projects, regulatory submissions, and lifecycle management.
  • Develop and implement innovative technologies for genetic toxicity testing.
  • Maintain expertise in Genetic Toxicology and regulatory standards.
  • Lead cross-functional teams; represent the PCS line function; communicate findings.
  • Engage with internal and external partners; ensure regulatory compliance.
Essential Requirements
  • PhD, DVM, or equivalent qualification.
  • Broad knowledge in genetic toxicology.
  • Understanding of the drug development process.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in regulatory genetic toxicology.
  • Experience with health authority interactions.
  • Strong analytical skills; commitment to scientific excellence.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable
  • Strong data analysis skills.

Compensation ranges from $152,600 to $283,400/year, depending on experience and location. Benefits include medical, financial, and other perks. Hires are at-will; salary may be adjusted based on market and performance.
