Assistant Principal (Steel Valley School District)

ASSIGNMENT:

25-26 assignment of Assistant Principal (Park Elementary)

26-27 assignment of Assistant Principal (Steel Valley Elementary)

REPORTS TO:

Assistant Superintendent

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Plan, organize and direct instructional programs which meet the diversified learning needs and styles of all the students.
  • Observe, evaluate and/or rate professional and/or non-professional staff and make recommendations to improve the staff in the performance of their responsibilities.
  • Participate in the screening, recommendation and/or assignment of all staff to ensure the best possible staff.
  • Implement all district and building policies and procedures relating to discipline, accounting, attendance, testing, student records, transportation, etc.
  • Participate in partner-management of the maintenance of the facilities so that the staff and students are provided with a safe, pleasant and comfortable learning environment.
  • Organize and direct a communications program, which serves as an information base to the various publics served by the school/district.
  • Plan, direct and/or present staff development activities or self improvement activities to improve skills and update techniques.
  • Participate in and administer all aspects of the fiscal operation of the building.
  • Monitor the Collective Bargaining Agreement to ensure all provisions are being implemented.
  • Plan and direct the activities required to develop the Long Range Planning/School Improvement Program to ensure compliance with Department of Education regulations.
  • Assign and/or schedule staff and group students in order to maximize each group's potential.
  • Develop, implement, supervise and/or recommend alternative educational programming, including the LRE and elementary Developmental Learning Programs, for all students which ensure that their needs are being met.
  • Participate in partner-management of the food services to ensure efficient operation of the program.
  • Assist in the scheduling and conducting of activities of the Elementary Advisory Council.
  • Is accessible for and schedules parent conferences for the purpose of communicating academic progress of students and/or to convey concerns and recommendations to parents on how individual student achievement can be improved.
  • Coordinate gathering of and provide content both written and visual for district newsletters and calendars.
  • Serves and assumes the role of LEA in special education meetings and ensures the implementation of state and federal requirements for students with disabilities
  • Implementation of special education programs and accommodations. They collaborate with special education staff to ensure that students with diverse needs receive appropriate support and services.
  • REQUIREMENTS:

    • A degree in Education Administration or a related field is required; advanced degrees are preferred.
    • Principal Certification K-12

    PREFERRED

    • Proven experience in education administration, including curriculum development and strategic planning.
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students alike.
    • Experience working directly with students in an educational setting is essential.
    • Proficient in budgeting processes related to school operations.
    • Excellent public speaking skills for effective communication with various stakeholders.
    • A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that supports diverse learning needs.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
