You will have the option to attach your resume in addition to completing the application.Please contact (661) ###-#### with any questions about the online application process.Position DescriptionGeneral SummaryA Laborer assists crew leads, equipment operators, crane operators, welders, etc. to accomplish dailytask which consist of a variety of manual labor functions and duties.Essential Job Functions 1. Regular and reliable attendance.2. Prepared and on time for scheduled shift with proper PPE.3. Engage in morning safety tailgate meeting and communicate safety topic with crew when needed.4. Perform and fill out pre-trip vehicle inspection before leaving the yard, check all fluids/tires/lights/ and all signs as listed on pre-trip.5. Perform monthly tool audits on equipment and ensure compliance (vehicle registration, fire extinguisher, etc.).6. Follow and/or complete the Detailed Daily Work Plan (DDWP) and ensure crew actively participates, knows and follows each procedure.7. Help identify hazards on the job site by being aware of the dangers associated with hazardous atmospheres.8. Perform tasks assigned by Crew Lead or Foreman like; mitigate or eliminate hazards on the job site, dig ditches, clean up spills and stand fire watch, buff and grind as needed for welder.9. Learn proper use and maintenance of various tools such as gas monitors, two-way radios, basic hand tools, shovels, slings etc. Assist with tasks such as bolt-up, rigging of loads, buffing and grinding, etc.10. Be actively involved in all KSI and Customer Safety Process.11. Develop knowledge of KSI SOPs and refer to the SOP Manual prior to each task.12. Perform all physical and mental requirements listed.Position RequirementsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities• Ability to read and write in English• Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions in English• Ability to communicate with employees and various business partners in a professional and courteous manner.• Knowledge of Lock Out/ Tag Out process• Ability to utilize Stop Work Authority (SWA) when needed• Knowledge of technology (iPads, cellphones etc.)• Ability to complete safety training• Ability to read a tape measure• Ability to recognize and use hand and power tools• Ability to demonstrate basic construction safety rules• Ability to work in confined spaces for long periods at a time• Ability to be clean shaven to wear supplied air mask and work at high elevated platforms• Ability to assist crane operations by applying proper rigging to load and learning proper hand signalsEducation and ExperiencePreferably 1-2 years of related industry experience (6 months minimum) along with knowledge of tools.Physical & Mental RequirementsWorking Conditions: The locations vary from site to site. Work is physically demanding and requires the ability to concentrate well on the job at hand, in all types of weather. Majority of the work is construction-based work. Walking and working surface vary depending on the terrain, from flat to extreme slopes and frozen, wet, snowy and slippery conditions.Working Hours: Normally, a full-time employee will work 40 hours per week, depending on the factors such as weather and schedules. Work schedules and hours may vary somewhat depending on specific client locations and projects. In general, applicable work schedules include 5-8's and 4-10's.
