Job Overview:

The Contractor Consultants is seeking an experienced and driven Sr. Water/Wastewater Superintendent to lead and manage construction projects from start to finish. This role is crucial in ensuring that field operations run efficiently, safely, and profitably while maintaining top-tier quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil construction, mechanical systems, and wastewater treatment plant projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Leadership:
    • Lead by example in implementing company and client safety policies.
    • Plan for and ensure job site safety compliance, including required safety equipment.
    • Conduct and oversee effective daily safety meetings.
    • Complete all required safety reports within 24 hours.
  • Pre-Construction Planning:
    • Review project documents, contracts, submittals, plans, and specifications.
    • Assist in planning personnel, equipment, tools, and material needs.
    • Coordinate with the equipment department and ensure material availability and proper handling.
  • Construction Execution:
    • Develop and implement weekly and daily work plans to meet project goals.
    • Apply appropriate means and methods to optimize production while maintaining safety, quality, and profitability.
    • Manage and mentor field personnel, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
    • Oversee subcontractor activities and ensure project site cleanliness and organization.
    • Utilize anti-theft systems to protect company property.
    • Maintain accurate construction documentation (change orders, purchase orders, RFIs, submittals, daily reports, photos, and records).
    • Keep supervisors informed about project progress, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Post-Construction Responsibilities:
    • Conduct final project walk-throughs with owners, architects, engineers, and project managers.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of construction operations experience in heavy civil water/wastewater construction.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing heavy civil construction projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other construction management software.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction contracts, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Willingness to travel to remote construction sites as required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company insurance requirements.

  • Mechanical & Wastewater Treatment Plant Knowledge and Experience
  • OSHA 10 & OSHA 30 Certifications
  • Confined Space Training
  • Fall Protection Training
  • Excavation Competent Person Training
  • Traffic Control Supervisor Certification
  • Registered Stormwater Inspector/SWPPP Certification
  • First Aid/CPR Training
