Responsibilities
  • Maintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft and aircraft components including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions.
  • Restores equipment condition and/or operation.
  • Performs aircraft maintenance transit inspections and fault resolution.
  • Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring systems and aircraft accessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, and services aircraft, including flushing crankcases, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.
  • Cleans parts using cleaning solutions and polishing and lapping compounds.
  • Performs work under general supervision.
  • Handles basic issues and problems, referring more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with a valid state driver's license.
  • Must have 3 years of aircraft mechanic experience (rotary wing preferred).
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures, and replacement of parts.
  • Working knowledge of technical publications.
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft-specific tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and shears.
  • High school diploma required.
