Responsibilities
- Maintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft and aircraft components including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
- Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions.
- Restores equipment condition and/or operation.
- Performs aircraft maintenance transit inspections and fault resolution.
- Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring systems and aircraft accessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, and services aircraft, including flushing crankcases, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.
- Cleans parts using cleaning solutions and polishing and lapping compounds.
- Performs work under general supervision.
- Handles basic issues and problems, referring more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen with a valid state driver's license.
- Must have 3 years of aircraft mechanic experience (rotary wing preferred).
- Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures, and replacement of parts.
- Working knowledge of technical publications.
- Thorough knowledge of aircraft-specific tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and shears.
- High school diploma required.
