About Us:Holy Comforter Episcopal Preschool and Kindergarten (HCEP&K) is dedicated to providing a lively, creative, loving, and safe environment that gives each child the opportunity to develop a sense of self-worth, self-understanding, and self-expression. Our integrated curriculum encourages the social, emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual development of children. Teachers provide a balance of activities and develop individual goals for the children so that each child receives the attention, challenges and successes they need. The heart of HCEP&K is active play for the Two ½ year old class and play centered academics fostered in developmentally appropriate instruction for Threes and PreK classes.

Job Overview:We are seeking a passionate and experienced Director to lead our vibrant school community. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and proven leadership and management skills. The Director will oversee daily operations, support and mentor teaching staff, and maintain strong relationships with families while upholding the mission and values of the school. Director will also be responsible for upholding preschool's mission in its relationship with the Church of the Holy Comforter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the continued growth of our well-established, play-centered based curriculum with guided practice fostering developmentally appropriate beginning academic skills that foster a lifelong love of learning and curiosity in young children.
  • Lead and mentor teaching staff, fostering professional growth and collaboration through individual, peer age group, and staff meetings.
  • Build positive relationships with parents, families, the church, and the community
  • Work with the Church Staff and Rector for smooth coordination between church activities and school activities with regular presence at Church staff meetings
  • Ensure compliance with all local and state regulations and licensing requirements
  • Manage budgets, resources, and facilities effectively
  • Conduct regular assessments of program quality and outcomes
  • Organize and participate in family engagement events and activities
  • Weekly visibility and contact with parents
  • Support preschool families' engagement with Holy Comforter Church ministries through regular communication of church events and invitations for involvement.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a related field (Master's in Early Childhood Education, or Business /Education Administrationpreferred)
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 4 years in a lead teacher role
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in early childhood education
  • Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
