Minimum Job Requirements Successful completion of post-secondary training is preferred.Knowledge and experience with heating/cooling/lighting/electrical is preferred.Must be able to lift or move materials up to 60 lbs.A minimum of three years' relevant work experience is required.Possess a valid driver's license.Demonstrate the skills and ability to operate and maintain tractors, mowers, weed eaters, chainsaws, tillers, etc.Must understand/be familiar with preventative maintenance.Can work independently and in a team environment on a day-to-today basis.Must have general knowledge of ground and maintenance.Must demonstrate effective verbal communication skills. Work PerformedAssemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes.Perform maintenance of grounds including but not limited to mowing, snow-removal, seeding.Read and understand blueprints and building drawings to determine work to be done.Install and repair fixtures, such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners.Maintain the building management control system.Install, maintain, and monitor all air conditioning, heating and lighting systems.Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work.Perform duties in accordance with OSHA regulations.Successfully complete all required OSHA training.Assist college electrician and maintain department as directed.Perform snow removal operations on an on-call basis.Maintain grounds free of litter and debris.Maintain grounds equipment.Dress appropriately for assigned duties.Serve as an evening/night-time custodian on an as-needed basis.Other duties as assigned.
