The Lab Instructor will be responsible for teaching students the principles, procedures, and skills required for performing clinical laboratory tests. This role includes hands-on instruction in areas such as hematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, immunology, and transfusion medicine. The instructor will guide students in mastering laboratory techniques, ensuring a thorough understanding of laboratory safety, quality control, and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a commitment to student success, and practical experience in a clinical lab setting.Duties Supervise students in classroom and practice lab environment. Develop teaching materials, activities and handouts for the course. Participate in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation activities to improve the instructional quality of the course. Maintain professional certification and seek opportunities for professional development. Perform duties assigned by the Department Chair. Work with the lecture instructor so the labs and lecture are cohesive in delivery.Minimum Requirements 1. Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science. Or applicant must have their Bachelors degree by 1/6/2024.2. ASCP Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, or ASCP Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (Applicant must obtain their MLS within 3 months of teaching)3. One year of clinical experience in Clinical Laboratory Science.4. Teaching, Assistant Teaching, or Training experience required.Preferred Qualifications 1.
