Sr. Network Consultant – Contract (Hybrid, Downtown Los Angeles)Contract Duration: 6 Months (with possibility of extension)Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid – Onsite & Remote)Start Date: ASAPIndustry: Professional ServicesCompensation: Competitive and commensurate with experienceAbout the RoleOur client, a well-established professional services firm, is seeking a Senior Network Consultant to join their IT infrastructure team on a 6-month contract basis, with the potential for extension based on project needs and performance.This is a hybrid position based in Downtown Los Angeles, and the consultant will report directly to the Network Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering several high-impact infrastructure projects including Azure Security deployments, Cisco ACI upgrades, and Inter-Data Center Encryption initiatives.This is a great opportunity to work on mission-critical network modernization efforts with a talented engineering team in a fast-paced, enterprise environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, deploy, and optimize secure network solutions in enterprise and hybrid cloud environments.Lead and support upgrades of Cisco ACI infrastructure, including policy creation, contract enforcement, and multi-site configuration.Implement and optimize Azure network security components (NSGs, ASGs, firewalls, and routing).Deliver Inter-DC encryption solutions, ensuring high-availability and security across sites.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architecture, standards, and best practices for network and security solutions.Perform deep packet inspection, network diagnostics, and issue resolution using analysis tools.Contribute to network automation and operational efficiency using Python, APIs, and tools such as Postman.Document network designs, change management procedures, and operational runbooks.Required Skills & ExperienceNetworking Expertise: CCIE-level knowledge or equivalent hands-on experience. Deep understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, route redistribution, HSRP, STP, LACP, vPC, NAT, DNS, and QoS.Data Center & SDN: SME-level experience with modern data center design, Cisco ACI, Cisco DNA Center, and Software-Defined Networking.Security & Access Control: In-depth knowledge of 802.1x, TACACS, RADIUS, Cisco ISE, SSO, SAML, and Palo Alto Networks SASE or next-gen firewalls.Wireless & Cloud: Solid understanding of wireless protocols (802.11 standards), RF fundamentals, and cloud networking in AWS and/or Azure environments.Network Automation: Hands-on experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Postman, REST APIs) to drive efficiencies in configuration and management.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Meraki Wi-Fi infrastructure and cloud-based management.Familiarity with financial services industry standards, compliance, and security practices.Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Work AuthorizationWe are open to candidates with the following statuses:U.S. CitizensGreen Card HoldersH-1B Visa Holders (We are able to provide H-1B transfer sponsorship if needed)
