A workers' compensation provider is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO). The COO's primary objective is to lead the organization in fulfilling its core mission of providing affordable solutions for its members. The ideal candidate will demonstrate respect for and a deep appreciation of relationships while operating with transparency, sound judgment and integrity. Serving as the company's ambassador, corporate guardian, role model, spokesperson and community leader, they will uphold the organization's values and commitment to excellence. The COO will collaborate with the board of directors on key developments and strategic decisions to drive profitable growth and ensure the continued delivery of superior member service. This leader will excel in a high-performance, service-oriented culture, demonstrating a commitment to quality and operational excellence. They will embody the organization's values by fostering employee loyalty and dedication while cultivating an environment that promotes innovation, collaboration and engagement. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and communicate a clear and compelling vision for the organization's future growth and success. Lead the development and execution of the strategic plan.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, management and motivation for the staff.
  • Build and lead a high-performing leadership team. Support individuals with opportunities for professional development and growth within the organization.
  • Collaborate with the senior management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes and talent aimed at serving customers and executing organizational objectives.
  • Foster a success-oriented, collaborative and accountable culture.

    • Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in the insurance industry, with a broader commercial lines background; workers' compensation focus (preferred).
  • Profit and loss accountability and/or financial accountability (preferred).
  • Proficient in small, middle and large market insurance.
  • Strong background in underwriting (preferred), claims or finance.
  • Experience working with regulators and legislators (preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree and/or professional designation (preferred).
