Job DetailsJob Location Royal Oak, MI Position Type Part Time Description The Office Assistant is the first point of contact for guests and patrons entering the facility. This role is responsible for delivering excellent customer service, handling administrative tasks, assisting with public skating sessions, managing skate rentals, and supporting the daily operations of the front office. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and courteously upon arrival, providing a welcoming and professional experience
- Manage daily check-ins for public skating, figure skating, hockey programs, and other events
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system for transactions, including admissions, rentals and registrations
- Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries regarding schedules, pricing, events, and facility operations
- Monitor lobby activity, maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area
- Assist with skate rental distribution and returns, ensuring safety and proper sizing
- Communicate with arena staff and coaches to coordinate program needs and assist with scheduling.
- Maintain accurate records and handle basic administrative tasks such as attendance logs, waivers, and incident reports
- Enforce facility policies in a polite and professional manner to ensure safety and satisfaction
- Support special events, tournaments, and seasonal programming as needed
QualificationsQualifications
- Prior customer service or cashier experience is strongly preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable use of computers, phones, and office equipment
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and remain calm in busy or challenging situations
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Interest or experience in ice sports (hockey, figure skating) is a plus
