Job Summary: The WISe Enrollment Specialist supports Medicaid eligible youth and families navigate higher levels of mental health care by providing education about WISe as a wraparound model, implementing clinical assessments to determine WISe as a potential level of care, partnering with community and formal supports to remove barriers of care access, and supporting families in accessing other mental health or substance use resources as appropriate. Will outreach to community partners to educate about WISe services, build partnerships and referral pipelines.
General Summary of Duties:
- Act as lead point of contact for WISe service referrals.
- Confirm Medicaid eligibility for all WISe interested youth and families.
- Complete CANS Screenings for Medicaid eligible youth ages birth-21 using the CANS B-5 and CANS 6-20 screening tools. CANS certification is required within one month of hire.
- Complete clinical interviews and intake assessments using culturally responsive practices. Utilize the current diagnostic manual, Washington State Access to Care criteria, and medical necessity guidelines to determine and initial diagnosis and treatment recommendations. Obtain or complete all required entrance documentation, including supplemental assessments/screenings.
- Conduct outreach and priority assessments as needed (DCYC, Juvenile Court, Tribal Entities, other C&F programs, etc.) and regularly travel to provide assessments at satellite locations if needed.
- Outreach into the community (schools, court, hospitals, juvenile detention, DCYF, etc.) to bridge barriers in accessing assessments for WISe.
- Attend community events and collaborate with community partners to educate on WISe services and the referral process.
- Provide families with information on WISe, its service intensity, and its differences compared to other community and therapeutic programs.
- Assist families in accessing care through KMHS, and connecting them to applicable resources within the community.
- Maintain compliance of critical deadlines, input timely documentation, and demonstrate independent competency within various databases including an EHR and BHAS.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of WISe, its implementation, and ongoing service and policy changes.
- Participate as an integral member of the WISe Team, building positive working relationships with staff across C&F departments and the agency.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications: Enrollment Specialist
I:EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, social services, or a mental health field.EXPERIENCE: Experienced (5 years of direct client care under the supervision of a master's level mental health professional with an active license).LICENSURE: Certified Agency Affiliated Counselor (must be eligible for this license upon hire).
Enrollment Specialist II:EDUCATION: Master's Degree in Psychology, social services, or a mental health field.EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience). LICENSURE: Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor (must be eligible for one of these licenses upon hire).Must meet and maintain the definition of a Mental Health Professional as defined in WAC 388-###-####.
Preferred Qualifications:EXPERIENCE: Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS).Business-rated insurance may be required if performing outreach duties.LICENSURE: Full or Associate Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Independent Clinical Social Worker License.
Performance Requirements:KNOWLEDGE:

- Maintain a working knowledge of relevant software and graphics programs needed for program monitoring, analysis, and evaluation.
- Maintain a working knowledge of culturally responsive and culturally humble care and practice. This includes knowledge related to working with individuals and communities of diverse backgrounds and experiences.
SKILLS:

- Demonstrated ability to be comfortable and practical with assisting a diverse population of individuals and families across the lifespan with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness or Serious Emotional Disturbance and who may be in crisis.
Worksite-Specific Requirements: WORKSITE: Bentley Campus Primary, outreach to satellite offices and community will be required. REQUIREMENT: Active WA State Driver's license.
