The END Fund is one of the world's leading philanthropic investment vehicles. Since our inception in 2012, the team has mobilized over $75 million in private investments and by the end of 2016 treated over 150 million people at risk of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). In a short time, the END Fund has established a strong track record in private philanthropic giving, technical expertise, advocacy and policy, working toward a vision to ensure people can live healthy and prosperous lives free of the risk of NTDs. The END Fund's mission is to aid in bringing an end to the most prevalent neglected diseases (NTDs) among the world's poorest and most vulnerable people.
The END Fund accomplishes this by:
The END Fund's strategic programming and priorities are in line with the global NTD community's common roadmap to control or eliminate the most common NTDs. The END Fund has a special emphasis on sub-Saharan Africa and currently supports NTD programs in over 25 countries.
THE ROLE
The high-level goal of the Strategy & Operations (S&O) department at the END Fund is to design and implement the decision-making, planning, and evaluation processes of the Fund as a means to enhance its strategic objectives: effective grantmaking and advocacy to end the most prevalent NTDs among the world's poorest people. As the Fund enters a period of significant projected growth and organizational change, S&O is responsible for strengthening the organization's strategic plans, operational systems, human resources, and relations with internal and external stakeholders to optimize performance while ensuring alignment both culturally and operationally.
The END Fund is seeking a detail-oriented, top-notch professional to help:
- Inform data-driven decision-making by the Board and Leadership Team;
- Support organizational learning across the team (i.e. operational choices, program quality and impact);
- Strengthen requisite systems, policies and organizational culture to increase interdepartmental information-sharing and data utilization within the team;
- Contribute to streamlining and strengthening internal grants administration processes; and
- Inform reporting to donors about the impact of their investments.
The successful candidate will be a thoughtful analyst with both qualitative and quantitative measurement skills, preferably with global health experience from the government, nonprofit or private sector. A natural team player, s/he will have a demonstrated track record of working collaboratively and leading institutional adoption of data collection and monitoring practices, with an eye towards accountability and data integrity. S/he will also have strong writing and data presentation skills, and be eager to help support the department's organizational development and change management mission.
The Associate Director/Director will work closely with the VP—as well as programs, finance, investor relations and operations colleagues—to develop and drive the END Fund's approach to evidence generation and use. S/he will engage in data analysis and reporting, data visualization for internal and external audiences, research and evaluation. These activities will provide a view of the Fund's Return on Investment and generate evidence to inform organizational decision-making. To that end, the successful candidate will have a track record of building productive working relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Furthermore, as a senior member of the S&O team, the Director will provide support to the VP around organizational strategy development and monitoring progress against success and growth metrics, supporting the mission of the department in any way s/he can. S/he will work closely with team members on quarterly Board reporting and will manage special projects for the VP.
