Summary

The Application Intake Specialist will assist the Residents Services Department (RSD) Manager and Specialists with duties related to determining and documenting applicant eligibility for NCIHAs housing programs. Responsibilities include intake, verification, data collection, and communication related to admissions as assigned by the RSD Manager.

Essential Functions
  • Perform clerical work within the RSD.
  • Operate and maintain office and visual aid equipment.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Attend meetings, workshops, and training sessions related to housing programs and funding sources.
  • Conduct applicant intake interviews.
  • Review applications for completeness and request additional information from applicants as needed.
  • Complete application intake, verifying income, Tribal enrollment, resident status, and reporting eligibility determinations to the RSD Manager.
  • Process applicants files within prescribed timeframes.
  • Maintain waitlists for various housing assistance programs.
  • Explain program policies and eligibility requirements to applicants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Education & Experience
    • High School Diploma or Equivalent; college degree preferred.
    • Two years of related experience in case management or property management, or a combination of education and experience.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
