The Director of Pupil Services provides leadership to central office administrators, principals, district personnel, and the school committee concerning special education, English language learners, school nursing, and other student services. The Director implements policies and directives as assigned by the Gill-Montague Regional School District, the Massachusetts Department of Education, and the federal government. Working closely with the superintendent, the Director implements policies and procedures promoting the success of all students and supporting accountability in all schools. The Director also collaborates with the director of business/operations to ensure fiscally responsible practices.

Qualifications include an advanced degree in special education or a related field, a minimum of 5 years of experience as a special education teacher or service provider, and at least 3 years in a supervisory role. A valid state certificate as a special education director is required. Demonstrated effectiveness in program administration, human relations, and interpersonal communication are essential. A commitment to principles of Affirmative Action in hiring is also required. The position prefers candidates with at least 5 years of relevant experience and a master's degree. Citizenship, residency, or a work visa is required.
