About the job Oncology RN, Rotating Shifts $3211 Weekly Responsibilities: - Provide direct patient care in the oncology department, including administering chemotherapy treatments and managing side effects - Monitor and assess patients' physical and emotional well-being, and provide appropriate interventions - Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans - Educate patients and their families about the treatment process, potential side effects, and self-care measures - Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic medical record system (Cerner) - Administer medications, including IV therapy, as prescribed by physicians - Perform procedures such as spinal taps, gastric lavage, and catheter care as needed - Assist with ambulatory surgery center procedures related to oncology patients - Conduct physical examinations and provide primary care services to patients as required - Manage pain through various interventions and collaborate with the pain management team Requirements: - Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of - Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology nursing preferred - Experience working with pediatric oncology patients is a plus - Proficient in using electronic medical record systems, specifically Cerner - Ability to lift and move patients safely using proper body mechanics - Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members - Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
