Sonatec is partnering with our world-leading industrial manufacturing client, to appoint an experienced Human Resources Director. This senior role is responsible for leading the HR strategy across the U.S. operations and supporting global people initiatives within a complex, safety-critical environment.

Our client operates multiple manufacturing sites across the U.S. and requires a commercially astute HR leader with proven experience in similar industrial sectors to drive strategic and operational HR excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the U.S. HR strategy aligned with global business objectives
• Lead talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and leadership development
• Manage and develop a regional HR team supporting multiple manufacturing plants
• Serve as a strategic business partner to plant and corporate leadership teams
• Drive engagement, retention, and succession planning efforts
• Ensure compliance with U.S. labor laws, health & safety regulations, and industrial standards
• Collaborate with global HR on transformational and cultural initiatives

The successful candidate will bring significant HR leadership experience in heavy industrial or complex manufacturing settings, with strong expertise in managing multi-site operations and navigating unionised or non-union environments. Excellent business partnering skills and a deep understanding of U.S. employment legislation are essential.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred)
• Professional HR certification such as SHRM-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), or equivalent is required
• Proven senior HR leadership experience within heavy industrial or large-scale manufacturing sectors
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. employment law and industrial compliance
• Experience working in global or matrixed organisations
• Strong ability to influence, coach, and lead senior leaders and HR teams
