Position: Accounting Manager
The Accounting Manager reports directly to the Site Controller and manages a small but growing accounting team. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional experienced in day-to-day accounting and finance operations, with a strong background in financial management including corporate accounting, financial reporting, consolidation, and internal controls.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the financial close process and assist with preparing and consolidating financial statements.
- Manage monthly reporting and analysis, including cash, GL, inventory reconciliations, variance analysis, and reserves calculation.
- Oversee accounting operations such as A/R and A/P.
- Supervise accounting staff members.
- Ensure understanding of ERP systems and transaction flows impacting ledgers.
- Research technical accounting issues for US GAAP compliance.
- Manage compliance with government reporting and tax filings.
- Develop, document, and maintain business processes, policies, and internal controls.
- Manage inventory reconciliations, audits, and standard costs.
- Coordinate cycle count activities and investigate discrepancies.
- Support annual financial audits.
- Report on margins, absorption, and other metrics to ensure gross margin accuracy.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Controller to improve operational performance.
- Provide documentation for external audits.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or equivalent; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial and cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient with ERP systems and data analysis.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a collaborative approach.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Energetic, positive attitude with a passion for the role.
- Must be a US Person due to DoD requirements.
- Onsite position.
