POSITION SUMMARY
The FMG Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager is an integral member of the Fincantieri Marine Group (FMG) financial team and reports to the FMG Director of FP&A. As a member of the FMG management team, this position supports and leads FMG FP&A functions, partnering with leadership to provide critical strategic planning and decision support.
The FP&A Manager supports the development and enhancement of the financial function, which serves as the analytical engine of the organization, providing insights and support to leadership for decision-making and strategic planning.
This position has visibility across all business units (shipyards) and at the corporate level, working with various management levels.
The FP&A Manager will be a key member of the FMG FP&A team, working with business units to ensure the timely preparation and consolidation of managerial reports, budgets, forecasts, and group-level analysis to communicate results to leadership at multiple levels.
Direct supervision of the FMG FP&A team and the ability to manage relationships are required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reporting System and Analysis: Develop, implement, and maintain effective reporting systems, forecast and simulation tools, and analysis processes to provide senior leadership with analytical tools for goal setting and performance measurement across the company's portfolio.
- Reporting: Compile and update financial and operational performance reports for business units and the consolidated company, including historical and forecast data, using appropriate metrics. Collect managerial reports from shipyards to track trends, implications, key actions, and strategic insights. Analyze trends in revenue, costs, expenses, and capital expenditures. Support the implementation of business rhythm, Business Intelligence tools, and dashboards. Prepare presentations for board meetings, leadership reviews, and strategic committees.
- Forecasting and Scenario Planning: Define and coordinate annual operating plan and budget data collection. Lead scenario modeling for FMG's growth and development, providing visibility on potential future scenarios. Influence decision-making and manage finance staff across locations.
- Ad hoc Analysis: Develop ad-hoc reports and analyses on key performance indicators, financial models, and strategic business decisions. Analyze complex financial data to provide timely and accurate recommendations to management.
