The Vice President of Business Operations and Finance is a senior administrator, member of the College executive team, and reports directly to the College President. The individual in this position assumes duties that require availability during non-College hours and off-campus when necessary. The role involves providing leadership to help the College manage change effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure exemplary operational and financial audits.
- Keep the President informed of activities related to business operations, facilities, and finance, and respond to inquiries promptly.
- Manage direct reports and promote departmental efficiency and collaboration.
- Lead the annual budgeting process.
- Oversee finance, facilities, and business operations, including IT, Facilities, Accounting, Purchasing, Financial Reporting, and Auxiliary Services.
- Supervise the planning, construction, and maintenance of physical facilities.
- Oversee IT infrastructure and advancement, ensuring productivity and efficiency improvements.
- Administer the insurance program.
- Assist in addressing state and federal issues affecting financial interests.
- Collaborate to secure resources and promote financial health, including managing grants and interacting with the Foundation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant statutes, guidelines, and regulations.
- Enforce procurement procedures and ensure compliance before payments.
- Reconcile ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Post links to textbooks and instructional materials in the registration system and bookstore website.
- Implement controls over contractor and subcontractor processes.
- Maintain documentation for project negotiations and costs.
- Complete mandatory compliance training annually.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution required; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in finance, business, or administrative services within public higher education.
- Strong communication, organizational, administrative, strategic planning, and task management skills.
- Effective public speaking and presentation skills.
- Commitment to collegial and consensus-building decision-making processes.
- Financial expertise in budgeting, management, and analysis; higher education finance experience preferred.
