Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President, the Executive Director of Advancement is responsible for developing, designing, and implementing major gift fundraising initiatives focused on strategic program areas for the Stephenson Cancer Center. The role involves working with the Assistant Vice President on fundraising programs and projects from inception to completion.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field, along with 10 years of fundraising experience, including healthcare, academic medicine, or cancer research. A proven record of significant personal achievement in fundraising is required. An understanding of NIH/NCI funding mechanisms, including the Cancer Center Support Grant (P30), and the ability to understand and communicate complex cancer research concepts to donors are essential. Experience with Grateful Patient programs is preferred.
