Job Details- Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse position at Carlsbad Medical Center.
- Responsible for nursing care during antepartum triage, active labor, postpartum (mom and baby), and special care nursery babies.
- Accountable for providing care during antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of Obstetrical care.
- Utilizes Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
- Demonstrates critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning safe delivery of care.
- Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education.
- Delegates patient care priorities and supervises assigned personnel delivering patient care.
Job Requirements- Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience required.
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP.
- Fingerprinting required for all New Mexico travelers.
Schedule Information- Shift: Days, 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
- No floating required.
- No call required.
- 48-hour guarantees not approved.
- Blocked scheduling not approved.
Unit Specific Information- Labor & Delivery (L&D) unit.
- LDRP unit (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) providing care to antepartum triage, active labor, postpartum, and neonatal patients.
Additional Details- Patient ratio ranges from 1:1 to 1:4.
- Electronic Medical Records used: MedHost (inpatient), GE Centricity (OB), Athena (Clinic).
- Number of beds: 1 Triage, 3 Labor, 4 Post-Partum.
- LDRP unit provides nursing care to antepartum triage, active labor, postpartum, and special care nursery babies.
