Roof Bolter OperatorEssential Duties/Responsibilities:Performs all duties and activities in a manner that conforms to site specific safety requirements, company policy, state and federal regulations.Responsible for assessing conditions encountered during mining and taking appropriate action during the roof bolting cycle; scaling top rock and ribs as conditions warrant; know when supplemental support is needed; know and follow the proper bolt sequence according to the Approved Roof Control Plan.* Maintain proper face ventilation both permanent and temporary controls.* Load and unload materials and supplies as required.Other Duties/Responsibilities:* Perform other duties as required.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:* Understanding of section ventilation and cable handling procedures.* Know the Safe Job Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, company safety policies, and applicable rules and regulations.Working Environment/Physical Activities:This position requires the operator to possess the dexterity (refer to Physical Abilities) to work and operate machinery and equipment in a coal seam height that varies. The operator must constantly be attentive to the changing geological conditions and surrounding environment.Education, Qualifications and Training:Underground coal miner's certificateAnnual 8 hour refresher trainingOn-the-job experienceVocational training (optional)Other qualifications as required by contract, regulations, and/or management
