Eligible Special Selection clients should contact their Disability Counselor for assistance.Job posting will remain open until a suitable candidate has been identified.DescriptionUnder the general direction of the Director of Enterprise Computing/CTO, and in coordination with the CAO of the Computer Science and Engineering Department, the Information Systems Analyst 3 is responsible for all aspects of the management of the CSE Data Center needs. This position requires strategic thinking, technical expertise, leadership, and collaboration to ensure that the data center and its infrastructure meet the evolving demands of a world-class research and academic institution.The Information Systems Analyst 3 is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the 2,900 sq ft. CSE Data Center operations, ensuring its efficiency, security, scalability and compliance with the university's and research sponsors' policies. Oversees the design, maintenance, and expansion of the department's data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, networking, storage, and security. Works closely with researchers to coordinate computing resource usage, ensuring adequate capacity and system performance.~Cover letter required for a complete application.Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Broad knowledge of various areas of IT.
  • Advanced skills associated with programming design, modification and implementation. Basic knowledge of secure software development. Demonstrated ability to create software specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to install software and troubleshoot and repair moderately complex problems with computing devices, peripherals and software. Understanding of and experience troubleshooting client, server and peripherals-related issues and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance. Experience in incident response and digital forensics, including data collection, examination and analysis.
  • Thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions. Knowledge of the design, development and application of technology and systems to meet business needs.
  • Demonstrated experience with database administration. Working knowledge of database management systems and standards. Knowledge relating to database system design. Advanced database querying and modeling skills working with moderately complex databases.
  • Familiarity with logical data design and data mapping or data conversion.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer security tools, best practices and policies including demonstrated experience securing server-based software. Demonstrated skill at administering moderately complex security controls and configurations to computer hardware, software and networks.
  • Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
  • Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of how system management actions affect other systems, system users and dependent / related functions.
  • Familiarity with data quality and governance issues and requirements.
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Works independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated problem-solving skills. Ability to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of modern web-based programming languages and techniques. This should include, but not be limited to: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Ruby on Rails, PHP, Perl, XML, XSLT.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage web servers. Must be able to install necessary components for application needs and configure/tune web server as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and cope with interruptions.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities, provide estimates, manage customer expectations, provide status reports to management and users and deliver products in a timely fashion.
  • Demonstrated experience in data center activities, including the installation and removal of HPC equipment and proper floor management. Knowledge of electrical and cooling specifications and the ability to measure and monitor them.
  • Experience with high-performance networking equipment and cabling requirements, system design, and implementation.
  • Work experience and knowledge of safety procedures with regard to handling of hazardous/dangerous materials and equipment and knowledge of electrical, building, and fire safety codes and their applications.

Pay Transparency ActAnnual Full Pay Range: $85,400 - $156,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)Hourly Equivalent: $40.90 - $75.10Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
