Position Overview:The Engineer / Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of hotel facilities, equipment, and systems to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for guests and team members. This position plays a critical role in upholding Hilton brand standards and ensuring guest satisfaction through responsive and efficient service.
Key Responsibilities:Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
Conduct preventative maintenance on guestrooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and hotel equipment.
Respond promptly to guest room calls and service requests in a professional and courteous manner.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the maintenance workshop and related areas.
Assist in maintaining the hotel's safety and emergency systems (fire alarm, sprinkler, etc.).
Work closely with the General Manager and/or Chief Engineer to manage maintenance schedules and supply inventory.
Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures, including OSHA regulations.
Maintain accurate logs of completed work, inspections, and inventory.
Support energy conservation initiatives and ensure cost-effective use of hotel utilities.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.
1–3 years of experience in building maintenance or a similar role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs and perform physical activities such as climbing ladders or working in confined spaces.
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
EPA certification and/or boiler license is a plus.
Fast-paced hospitality environment.
Requires standing, walking, and working in both indoor and outdoor conditions.
Must be available for emergency on-call rotation.
