Botanical Innovation + Conservation

POSITION INFORMATION

Finance Manager reports to the North America VP of Finance with dotted line to Chantecaille Global Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (for Global topics). This role will play a crucial part in business partnering to supporting the commercial/marketing and operational processes of our North America business (80% NA, 20% Global consolidation). The successful candidate will be responsible for assistance in quantifying business plans, monitoring and communicating on deviations to plan, having a voice in business steering and providing accurate and timely financial reporting. Internal customers will include North America and HQ commercial and operations teams.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare and consolidate periodic net sales reports, sales forecasts, retail sales, and P&L reports in partnership with commercial business owners playing the role of both challenger and enabler
• Generate and maintain timely and accurate commercial financial reports for the North America business (including breakdown of local and global spend), ensuring alignment with Chantecaille management and Beiersdorf Group stakeholders.
• Coordinate the completion of input templates to effectively communicate budget, forecast, and actual results, seeking clarifications and preparing comprehensive summaries accordingly.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to gather relevant data and insights, leveraging financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement streamlined reporting methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Budgeting and Planning:

• Partner closely with the marketing team to develop and manage the marketing budget for North America (including breakdown of local and global spend), aligning it with strategic objectives and financial targets.
• Prepare marketing budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans, considering market dynamics and growth opportunities.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of new product launches and activations, evaluating their effectiveness through sales performance and customer acquisition costs.
• Provide strategic financial recommendations to optimize marketing initiatives, drive revenue growth, and maximize return on investment.
• Monitor and analyze actual spending against budgeted amounts on a regular basis, identifying variances and providing insights to management.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive budget tracking systems for operating expenses, including but not limited to general expense, T&E, and other relevant areas.

Stakeholder Updates and Presentations:

• Prepare presentation materials for stakeholder updates, providing clear and concise financial insights and recommendations related to marketing activities.
• Assume the role of a key user for financial reporting technologies and methods in the region, ensuring smooth and effective financial system operations.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to promptly and professionally address financial inquiries and exceptions, fostering strong relationships and maintaining a high level of collaboration.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a similar field, MBA/Master's degree appreciated but not required
• Minimum 5 years of progressive work experience in financial analysis/reporting, ideally within relevant or adjacent industries (cosmetics, retail, luxury, or consumer goods).
• Maturity and general financial knowledge to serve as business partner and sparring partner to senior commercial leaders
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a global team, building relationships and finding common ground.
• Strong attention to detail combined with excellent analytical skills.
• Adaptability and willingness to contribute beyond the scope of the job description within a lean organization.
• Sense of urgency and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a transformation environment.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently, taking responsibility for assigned tasks.
• Excellent proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• SAP knowledge is preferred.
