Managing Consultant, Environmental Project Manager (Senior Level)

ERM is seeking a motivated, hands-on Managing Consultant, Environmental Project Manager, Engineer/Geologist to join our Liability Portfolio Management & Remediation team in New York, NY. Under the guidance of senior project managers/directors, principal consultants, and partners, you will manage site investigation, risk assessment, and remediation projects across CERCLA, RCRA, and state programs in New England, other US regions, and internationally. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with technical experts, implement innovative remediation technologies, and develop your leadership and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform and coordinate site investigation, risk assessment, and remediation projects involving soil, groundwater, and sediments with moderate to complex regulatory issues.
  • Plan and oversee field activities including sampling, drilling, well installation, and high-resolution site characterization.
  • Implement vapor intrusion investigations and remediation in commercial and residential settings.
  • Review environmental data, develop site models, and prepare work plans and reports under various regulatory frameworks.
  • Support technology evaluation and develop cost-effective closure strategies, negotiating with regulators.
  • Delegate tasks, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with technical experts to maximize client value.
  • Prepare proposals, support business development, and maintain client relationships for repeat business.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, geology, or related field; master's preferred.
  • Professional license such as PE or PG, or ability to obtain soon is preferred.
  • 4+ years (preferably 5-8) of experience in project management and technical work on site investigation/remediation projects.
  • Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills; familiarity with environmental data management (EQuIS is a plus).
  • Environmental field experience and 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
  • Commitment to safety and ability to travel across various locations.
  • Salary range: $88,292 – $101,327 USD annually, based on experience and other factors. Benefits include paid time off, health insurance, 401(k), and more. Apply via ERM Careers.
