Description
- You will work on challenging assignments that include designing HVAC systems, investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of HVAC engineering issues.
- You will collaborate with others to develop integrated HVAC systems, including:
- Commercial/Industrial Ventilation Systems
- Control room HVAC
- Laboratory HVAC
- Chilled water system design
- Heating system design
- Provide support in planning, scheduling, conducting, or coordinating the detailed design phases of all aspects of facility engineering work.
- Perform design calculations and develop detailed system designs.
- Prepare technical specifications for HVAC equipment.
- Prepare engineering studies.
- Support other engineers, project managers, client personnel, and suppliers to ensure complete and timely designs.
- Assist senior engineers with reviews of existing facilities to propose upgrades and replacements, and present findings and recommendations to clients and peers.
- Maintain familiarity with ASHRAE standards and current HVAC industry codes and standards.
This position is based on a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office presence 3 days per week.
Qualifications

Essential skills and experience include:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Ten or more years of relevant HVAC and chilled water system design experience for commercial, laboratory, and industrial facilities.
- Proficiency in TRACE 700 or 3D+ programs, AutoCAD, and Microstation; ability to create design flow diagrams and P&ID diagrams.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards applicable to HVAC and ventilation systems.
- Experience in preparing HVAC studies.
- Experience in planning, scheduling, conducting, or coordinating detailed design phases of facility engineering work.
Valued but not required:
- Membership in ASHRAE.
- PE license.
