Who we are looking for:

SLATE is looking for an experienced leader to join our fast, frugal, and scrappy startup as the Head of Purchasing and Supply Chain. This position will be responsible for developing and executing our P&S strategy to support the achievement of our business objectives. The position is accountable for setting up processes and systems for sourcing, procurement, logistics, and supplier quality while providing overall functional leadership. Reporting to the CEO, the Head of P&S will work with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to ensure supplier readiness to support product development and all corporate operational activities. The leader will oversee strategic projects and the business systems roadmap to support the growth of the company.This role requires a balance of strategy development and significant operational responsibility to drive performance across the SLATE organization as well as with strategic partners and other stakeholders.

What you get to do:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee the Purchasing and Supply Chain strategy (including planning, cost estimating, sourcing, procurement, logistics and supplier quality).
  • Direct and implement global strategic, tactical and operational aspects to secure supply in an efficient manner (short-term as well as long-term) and ensure full accountability for supply chain optimization.
  • Oversee, plan and lead all activities related to reliable supply plans (including scenario planning for alternate options) – ensuring clear direction and competitive advantage.
  • Communicate and collaborate with operations management, program management, and commercial to ensure alignment and feasibility between demand and supply .
  • Become a strong partner to our stakeholders, developing and implementing models / scenarios securing strong tools for impact assessment and recommendations related to supply and capacity .
  • Build and develop an end-to-end supply chain foundation to secure the right competencies and skills within different functions (e.g., sourcing and procurement, logistics , planning, analytics, supplier quality, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain budget (expense and capital). Perform budgetary tracking and decision making for department expenses and capital expenditures. Establish plans for reviews of inventories and scrap.
  • Establish metrics for end-to-end supply chain and track progress against the targets.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and lead project team strategically, operationally and technically.

What you bring to the team:

  • ·Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • ·Over 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
  • ·Experience in leadership and management within a start-up or period or rapid company growth.
  • ·Proven leadership skills, with successful experience in building and leading high performing teams.
  • ·Naturally results-driven, agile, and a change agent with the commitment and confidence to assume a leadership role in an evolving, complex environment.
  • ·Solutions-oriented with an ability to flex between setting strategy, building for scale, and tactical execution.
  • ·Results-oriented with a focus on metrics and analytics to support recommendations and decision-making.
  • ·Strong communication skills and ability to synthesize information and articulate solutions and strategies clearly, concisely, and effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • ·Strong interpersonal and business partnering skills and demonstrated success collaborating and influencing cross-functionally to deliver desired outcomes while maintaining rapport with stakeholders.
  • Ability to act independently, guided by company goals, policies and objectives is essential
  • Have a strong understanding of the finance and budgeting processes.
