Job Summary

Responsible for managing sourcing activities for Power Americas within the assigned commodity. They work to improve productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness with our supply base. They also ensure that the supply chain can meet production demands.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategy: Create and implement strategies for sourcing in Nidec Power-Leroy Somer NA.
  • Manage suppliers: Find suppliers, manage agreements, and build relationships.
  • Analyze data: Use data analytics to identify areas for improvement in the supply chain.
  • Coordinate activities: Work with other teams to ensure supply chain capacity meets production needs.
  • Negotiate: Negotiate commercial conditions with suppliers.
  • Find solutions: Find creative solutions to problems that may impact the organization, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Influence others: Influence peers and suppliers to adopt different points of view, driving supply chain improvements.
  • Qualifications/Requirements
    • Experience as commodity SQE / SQA / buyer / tactical buyer / category buyer (2-3 years).
    • Strong knowledge of the key aspects of the RFI / RFQ sourcing process.
    • Supplier development experience.
    • Ability to understand value stream, cost drivers, and how to break down cost structures.
    • Results-driven, self-starter, problem solver with proven ability to drive projects to successful completion.
    • Team-oriented with excellent communication skills.
    • Proficiency in MS Office.
