- Math 1151/1161 – Math for Educators I and II
- Math 1203 – Statistical Models for Social Science
- Math 1205 – Finite Math with Applied Calculus for Business
- Math 1015 – Precalculus
- Math 1401 – Calculus 1
- Math 1501/1511/2511 – Calculus 1, 2, or 3 for Math and Physical Science
- Math 2111 – Statistics for Science
- CSAS 1114/1115 – Intro to Program Design 1 and 2
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions with students seeking assistance in Mathematics or Computer Science.
- Clarify course concepts, review homework assignments, and help students prepare for exams.
- Adapt tutoring techniques to accommodate diverse learning styles and individual student needs.
- Provide clear explanations and examples to aid student's understanding of complex topics.
- Offer guidance on note-taking, math study skills, and exam preparation methods.
- Direct students to additional resources, such as online tutorials or academic support services, to supplement their learning.
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, including student attendance, topics covered, and progress made.
FEDERAL WORK STUDY REQUIREMENTNO -- Federal Work Study eligibility not requiredRequired Qualifications
- Currently enrolled undergraduate student.
- Proficiency in Mathematics and/or Computer Science, with an A or B+ in the courses.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
- Reliability and punctuality in fulfilling tutoring commitments.
- Computer Science tutors must have a letter of recommendation from either Dr. Morazan, Dr. Albagli-Kim, Dr. Anand, or Dr. Hemann.
