Founded in 1978 by 3-time Presidential appointee Gavin de Becker, our firm's Protectors, Analysts, and Investigators are committed to our mission of protecting human life through assessment, prediction, and management of violence.

A newly hired Protector selected for a Team Leader role in Seattle will earn no less than $80,000 in their first year with GDBA, with potential earnings up to $110,000 for Seattle-based Protectors.

Team Leader positions are earned through merit, considering prior relevant experience and performance in GDBA Training Academy. Protectors excelling in individual performance and ongoing training in the Two-Year Professional Leadership Track (PLT) may qualify for an accelerated pathway to a Team Lead role.

GDBA seeks qualified individuals from diverse backgrounds to bring their skills to our protective mission. As a Team Leader, you will lead and train protector teams, utilize GDBA's essential resources, and safeguard clients in various challenging circumstances.

Who You Are:

Ideal candidates for the Executive Protection Team Lead position possess one or more of the following:

  • 3+ years experience in close protection/executive protection for high-net-worth or at-risk clients.
  • Experience in Residential, Corporate, Technology, or Military/Law Enforcement Protective Security Details (PSD) environments is preferred.
  • Field/travel experience, domestic or international, is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • 3+ years in a full-time certified law enforcement role.
  • HR-218 (LEOSA) eligibility or a concealed carry (CCW) permit is notable.
  • 2+ years as an Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT), Paramedic (NREMT-P), or Registered Nurse (RN); military medical experience such as Corpsman or Combat Medic is also accepted.
Your Role as a Team Leader:
  • Communicate directly with clients and become subject-matter experts for specific assignments.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic decisions.
  • Plan and adjust shift schedules based on client needs and Protector requests.
  • Monitor property using GDBA Command Center tools and technology.
  • Screen visitors and vendors; control access to protected sites.
  • Coordinate security plans and respond to medical emergencies.
  • Provide physical protection and logistical support during client travel and at residences.
  • Offer secure transportation (STO) as needed.
  • Survey and prepare locations prior to client arrival.
  • Document suspicious activities in detail.
  • Maintain readiness to meet any threat.
Candidate Expectations:
  • Complete 12-day Introductory Essential Protector Skills (EPS) Training Academy.
  • Participate in the 2-year Professional Leadership Track (PLT), including 500 hours of training, mentoring, and certification, plus four advanced academies.
  • Must be drug and nicotine-free.
  • Pass pre-employment background checks.
  • Be able to swim.
