A research opportunity is available in the Biomaterials & Assembly Branch at DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory (ARL) in Adelphi, MD. A post-baccalaureate opportunity is available for the development, synthesis, & characterization of peptide-based receptors for detecting chemical/biological targets of interest. This work supports the Defense Threat Reduction Agency's R&D efforts in colorimetric detection technologies for sensing chemical threats. Work is expected to include the chemical synthesis and assessment of affinity kinetics exhibited by peptide receptors derived from One-Bead-One-Compound (OBOC) peptide library screens against protein targets of interest. Backgrounds in Chemistry, Biochemistry & biochemical engineering and related disciplines are preferred.
