Overview
The Executive Director (ED) is a full-time administrative position responsible for the organization, administration, planning, and development of the Business Program. The ED will lead D'Youville's Business Programs, which are externally accredited by a recognized accrediting body. This role requires teaching four (4) courses annually. The ED is appointed annually by the VPAA upon recommendation from the Dean.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and update the program's operational and strategic plans.
- Align program goals with the university's vision and strategic objectives.
- Review and revise curricular requirements to ensure compliance with accreditation standards; update existing programs or develop new ones to attract students and enhance learning outcomes.
- Create course schedules and assign faculty loads.
- Develop and regularly review program-level policies and documents, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and attractiveness to prospective students and partners.
- Monitor department webpages, catalogs, and publications for accuracy and compliance.
External Engagement
- Build partnerships with community, business leaders, alumni, donors, and government entities.
- Represent the department externally, fostering relationships and opportunities for internships, mentorships, and employment pathways.
Assessment and Accreditation
- Lead assessment activities at course, program, and student levels.
- Manage accreditation reports, self-studies, and ensure timely submission of required documentation.
Faculty and Student Oversight
- Engage in enrollment management and student recruitment.
- Recruit and evaluate faculty, ensuring qualifications meet standards.
- Promote faculty development and oversee student progress and graduation processes.
Qualifications
- Terminal degree (Ph.D. or DBA) in Business or a related field.
- Knowledge of national accreditation standards for business programs.
Experience
- Proven leadership in academia, especially in business education.
- Experience with curriculum development, accreditation, and assessment processes.
- Ability to foster relationships with external partners to support program growth.
