Job Title: Springfield Community Land Trust Executive Director

Job Summary: The Executive Director (ED) is a full-time strategic leader responsible for managing the Springfield Community Land Trust (SCLT). The ED handles programmatic and fundraising activities to ensure SCLT's long-term success, including resource development, marketing, home-buyer education, and building banking partnerships. Candidates must have a results-focused mindset, excellent communication and organizational skills, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, and at least three years of professional experience. This grant-funded, exempt position's pay range depends on funding availability.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, human services, community development, or related field
  • Minimum of three years' professional experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Valid Missouri driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 35 lbs.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work independently and in teams, and collaborate with agencies
  • Experience working with diverse socio-economic backgrounds
  • Knowledge of housing, mortgage, real estate practices, and grant-writing

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain and update SCLT marketing materials
  • Present to community stakeholders to fundraise
  • Work with banking partners to meet CRA requirements
  • Manage the home buying process from start to finish
  • Assist applicants navigating the program
  • Coordinate with funding partners and financial institutions
  • Utilize funding sources like Down Payment Assistance
  • Coordinate home closings
  • Develop banking partnerships
  • Set goals and benchmarks to align with the board's vision
  • Maintain existing housing stock in SCLT portfolio
  • Market and list houses with realtors
  • Review and update homebuyer procedures and orientation curriculum
  • Review and revise SCLT Board policies
  • Ensure ongoing business operations of SCLT
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Reporting Structure: The ED reports directly to the SCLT Board of Directors, with oversight from the VP of Affordable Housing & Homeless Prevention, and may have duties related to Community Partnership of the Ozarks (CPO). The position may include reporting to CPO and participation in training and reviews.

Position Clarification: This is a grant-funded, full-time, exempt position, with pay dependent on funding. CPO receives federal grants supporting SCLT and must comply with the Drug-Free Workforce Act of 1988. Marijuana is considered an illegal substance under federal law, with no exceptions for medicinal use, and is not protected under the ADA.
