Duties and ResponsibilitiesStudy specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.Follow blueprints and building plans.Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding.Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, and other materials.Construct building frameworks, including wall studs, floor joists, and doorframes.Assemble and fasten materials to make framework or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.Build or repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, and other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, carpenter's hand tools, and power tools.Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.Finish surfaces of woodwork or wallboard, using paint, hand tools, and paneling.Work with and/or remove hazardous material.Perform minor plumbing, tiling, HVAC, welding and/or concrete mixing work.Desired Skills, Qualifications & ExperienceHigh School Diploma4 years of carpentry experience.Experience running heavy equipment such as skidsteer, forklift, dump truck, crane, and backhoe.Performance driven.
